Yanmei Qu

Based in Lake City, Florida, Yanmei Qu is a self-taught watercolor artist whose work draws deeply from the natural world, which she considers her greatest teacher. Her paintings bring a striking realism to landscapes and scenes of human activity, capturing the places she has visited with careful attention and an eye for detail. Though she has studied through artist demonstrations online and took coursework at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada, she has built her practice largely on her own terms. She approaches her art with a spirit of curiosity and a commitment to pushing her own boundaries.
